Saudi Arabia's USD533.2m Butanol plant to operate in Q3
(MENAFN) Saudi Butanol Co. plant project, valued at USD533.2 million, is forecast to start its experimental operations in the third quarter of 2015, Arab News reported.
Butanol, located in Jubail, is a joint venture for some regional petrochemicals firms. The plant is set to enjoy a capacity of a yearly 330,000 tons of N-butanol, which a kind of alcohol.
The plant will generate an additional yearly 11,000 tons of iso-butanol. The experimental period for the plant is forecast to last between three to six months.
"Construction of the plant is ongoing ... Trial operations are expected in the third quarter of 2015," the National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) said in a statement.
