Indian sentenced to die in drug smuggling case

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 31: The Criminal Court chaired by Judge Mohammad Al- Duaij acquitted two individuals of the consumption and possession of hashish and Methamphetamine without official authorization and resisting the police in the process of arrest. The defense counsel to the first suspect Enam Haider explained the situation of her client and urged the court to dismiss the case faulting the process of arrest and search conducted on her client.

Death for Indian: The Penal Circle of the First Instance Court has sentenced an Indian to death after he was convicted of smuggling and trafficking in heroin and narcotic pills reports Al-Anba daily. The suspect was caught red-handed and police had later found heroin and narcotics from his home. During interrogation the convict had allegedly admitted to the charges filed against him.

Columnist acquitted: The Public Prosecutor acquitted Kuwaiti columnist Ahmed Al-Sarraf after investigations reports Annahar daily. Al-Sarraf was summoned for interrogation following a complaint filed by the Iranian embassy in Kuwait. The Public Prosecutor had earlier issued an arrest warrant against Al- Sarraf when the latter was outside the country.
