Jazan residents recall Houthi attacks of 2010
(MENAFN- Arab News) As 'Operation Decisive Storm' continues life remains normal for Jazan residents near the Saudi-Yemeni border.
Residents expressed support for the efforts to preserve the security and stability of the Kingdom especially border sites recalling the achievements of Saudi forces a few years ago when a number of Houthi rebels infiltrated their villages.
Abdullah Hamdi a resident of one of these villages said residents in the area are not affected and there is currently no cause for concern about the military coalition led by the Kingdom. He said security forces have contained the border with Yemen and continue to take a harsh stand against any infiltrators.
'We live in safety and security in a normal situation and the role of these military efforts is to create more security for the region' he said.
Ahmed Majroushi a resident of Al-Khouba village said residents spotted a number of planes headed toward Houthi sites.
He said security forces are always prepared to challenge any infiltrators and maintain a firm red line against such attempts.
At fajr prayers yesterday a number of mosques in Jizan led supplications to protect the Kingdom's security and stability. 'We must reduce the number of groups trying to harm the Kingdom and their evil intentions to create rifts between Muslims' said one imam.
