Indonesia's inflation slows to 6.3 percent in February

(MENAFN) Indonesia's consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, has accelerated at slower pace in February, as the government's policy to cut oil prices in January takes effects, Xinhua reported.

The National Statistics Bureau (NBS) announced that inflation has slowed to 6.3 percent last month, from 6.95 percent registered in the previous year on the annual month.

Deputy Chairman of the statistic distribution and services of the bureau said at a press conference that the subsidized-fuel price cut has impacted on the reduction of transport cost and food prices.

Core inflation, excluding unstable and administrative prices, has reached 4.56 percent last month, falling from 4.99 percent in January, the Deputy Chairman said at the press conference.
