South Korean construction orders hit USD6b in January

(MENAFN) South Korean builders won construction orders worth USD6.02 billion in January of 2014, Xinhua reported.

The overseas construction orders showed an increase by 61 percent on-year, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said.

The soar up could be attributed to a fistful of large orders which include a USD2.62 billion project to build a gas plant in Venezuela, and a power plant of USD1.65 billion worth in Vietnam.

Middle East orders stood at USD30 million in January since oil-producing countries abstained from construction projects among cheaper oil.
