Saudi- Al Kabeer Al Murjana share honors in Globe Cup
(MENAFN- Arab News) Al Kabeer Frozen Foods and Al Murjana figured in a rare tie for Team of the Week honors during the 14th session in the Thursday League 12th Conference for Globe Cup at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center here.
Both teams ended the session on 29 points with Al Kabeer cementing its grip on first place in the team standings. For Murjana which authored a perfect double on the 11th week the team award was its third as it tries to break into the top half of the standings.
Bulacan Knight was alone at third spot on the night with 28 points followed by Lifebuoy 24 Alliance in Motion Global 21 and D' Barkads 18.
The previous week honoree Advance Co. Engineers and Habagat matched cards of 13 while Jeddah 5KKB brought up the rear on 5 points.
In matching each other's totals Al Kabeer claimed the first place points of 9 points for the first two games and Murjana did the same for the third game and overall output all the while returning identical 11 points for the other two phases of the race they did not top. Murjana was 6 and 5 points for the first and second games while Kabeer and 4 and 7 for the third game and overall ouput.
The trio of Bandr Al Dosary Mohd. Al Amri and Daryl Loquias led the Kabeer charge on 616 573 and 538 respectively. Contributing two games each were skipper Igna Salgado 197-224 Gerry Mandanas 178-153 and Jowett Carrion who shot a pair of 174s.
Murjana had four players going three games in Jojie Manalansan 604 Mhon Laxamana 583 Faisal Relativo 576 and Jay Bengco 532. Richard Manaog had 189-191 and Obie Ycasas made 179.
Mohd Najeem shot the high series of 638 and along with Bulacan Knight teammate Atoi Cruz 621 became the highest two scorers of the night. Cesar Pagtalunan tossed in 577 while Jeff San Pedro and Mao Orolfo rounded out the scoring on 205-159 and 150.
Edwin Ronquillo missed 600 by a few pins on 594 while leading the Lifebuoy squad that drew 578 from Reggie Mendoza 561 from Bash Langa 535 from Alex Flora 212-151 from Tom Langa and 163 from Robert Bato.
