(MENAFN- Arab News) Businessmen in Jubail have reiterated their desire for independence from the Asharqia Chamber demanding that the chairman of the Board of Directors Abdul Rahman Al-Otaishan promptly remove all hurdles facing the process. However they stressed their role in developing the province and supporting its projects and economic trend.

At a meeting of the Asharqia Chamber at Jubail Intercontinental Hotel on Tuesday Al-Otaishan said: 'I appreciate your desire to interact with the Asharqia Chamber and promise to do our best in order to achieve our shared aspirations and for a more satisfying economic environment.'

He said that Jubail Industrial City has been distinguished with various economic values including natural resource and other large projects and significant man power projects in various fields.

'Jubail will face a challenge in the industrial field to keep up with future development.' Al-Otaishan said. Chairman of the Jubail Work Board Mutlaq Al-Qahtani said that the meeting was a confirmation of the importance of communication between the Chamber and its subsidiaries to achieve decentralization and to deepen the language of interaction between the province's capital and its suburbs.

Al-Qahtani added that the meeting aimed to promote the process of expanding participation to remove obstacles of communication and interaction to support national economic processes of growth to increase GDP and to call on all national efforts that can enhance the development process.

Al-Qahtani said that Jubail Industrial City witnessed an economic renaissance in recent years and was able to become one of the most important energy cities in the world.

'Jubail Industrial City will face great challenges as it will hold an increasingly important position in the energy sector and related industries' Al-Qahtani added.
