Iran to improve electricity exports to neighbors
(MENAFN) An energy official said that electricity production companies in Iran are ready to expand exports to neighboring markets, Iran Daily reported.
"Given the country's current situation and the decline in oil price, Iranian electricity companies have expressed their readiness to boost the export of technical and engineering services to neighboring countries," the head of the Board of Directors of Iran's Electricity Industry Syndicate, said.
He highlighted the potential of electricity markets in neighboring countries like Azerbaijan and Armenia and showed that the government is expected to support non-oil exports at a time when the oil price is falling in the global market.
Iran Deputy Energy Minister announced that Iran plans to become the regional energy hub, in view of its strategic location, high capabilities in establishing power plants and the suitable grounds for electricity exchange with neighboring countries.
