Syrian gov't delegation arrives in Moscow for dialogue
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A delegation of the Syrian government, led by the country's permanent representative to the UN in New York Bashar Al-Jaafari, arrived in Moscow Monday to participate in the Russia-sponsored dialogue with opposition parties.
Thirty opposition figures are taking part in the dialogue, held behind closed-doors and without previously-set agenda, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
It hoped the dialogue set the foundation for a constructive dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition.
The dialogue, it added, should result in the halt of bloodshed and suffering of the Syrian people, confronting terrorism and extremism.
