Iran's unemployment rate stands at 9.5 percent
(MENAFN) The Central Bank of Iran said that the country's unemployment rate in the second quarter of the current Iranian year stood at 9.5 percent, Iran Daily reported.
The unemployment rate was 10.5 percent for urban population and 7 percent for rural population. In terms of gender, 18 percent of women were jobless, while 7.9 percent of men were unemployed.
The unemployment rate for Iranians between 15 and 29 years was 20.2 percent, while it was 22.9 percent for those between 15 and 24 years. The study put the number of employed Iranians at 23.8 million.
