Saudi- Training center for media workers opens


(MENAFN- Arab News) Minister of Culture and Information Abdulaziz Al-Khodairy opened the Center for Media Training in Riyadh on Wednesday in an effort to build on the Kingdom's media landscape which is currently undergoing rapid development.The newly opened center aims to train media workers to become competent trainees in film direction production and presentation so that they can become leaders in the ever growing media sector.

Addressing the opening ceremony Al-Khodairy said that the media industry in the Kingdom has undergone major changes in recent years and that this newly launched center would help serve the purpose of a nucleus center to bolster talents.

Pointing to the need and importance of the center he said: 'Wvery man is looking for success and it is our prerogative to help them qualify by attracting trainers through quality and investment which is also within our vision and the wider mission of Saudi Arabia as a vibrant nation.' He underlined that the times are changing fast. While the focus earlier was on material industry it is now human resources which are becoming more important in fueling rapid national developments. Therefore national investment has swiftly shifted toward human resources.

Later interacting with reporters the minister made a statement clarifying that this center is part of an integrated system of programs adopted by the Saudi Radio and Television Commission (SRTC) to enhance the skills of the media workers and trainees working with them.

He noted that the services of the center will not be limited to focus only on SRTC staff but open to various activities and partnerships for the overall development of the media in the Kingdom.
