Al Murjana claims perfect double at Globe Cup bowling tilt
(MENAFN- Arab News) It took all of six weeks after its last taste of the center stage but Al Murjana couldn't have picked a better time when it celebrated a perfect double during the
11th session in the Thursday League 12th Conference for Globe Cup at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center here.
Murjana the fifth week honoree spreadeagled the field to compile the maximum possible score of 36 points with Faisal Relativo completing a perfect double when he clinched his consecutive Bowler of the Week awards after shooting the high series of 648 on scratch games 198 200 and 214.
None came close in light of Murjana's singularly remarkable performance with Al Kabeer Frozen Foods which won the last conference while carrying the colors of Sarawat on 29 seven points adrift of this session's Team of the Week.
Habagat returned 23 points in third place on the night with previous week honoree Advance Co. and D' Barkads tied on 22 points.
Lifebuoy carded 16 points and Bulacan Knight 14. Alliance in Motion Global and Jeddah 5KKB brought up the rear on 12 and 6 points.
In winning all three games and overall output Murjana got the most out of a six-man rotation led by Relativo. Steve Fragata and team manager Rene Ocampo gave great support to Relativo with rounds of 621 and 559. Tossing two games each were Mhon Laxamana 177-172 Richard Manaog 159-171 and Thong Langa 193-202.
While Al Kabeer was nowhere near Murjana it did get back to second place in the team standings thanks mainly to big games from Mohd Al Amari 627 and Daryl Loquias 610. Gerry Mandanas contributed 577 to go with the two games contributions from Igna Salgado 169-172 Bandar Al Dosarry 203-193 and Jowett Carrion 179-182.
Over at Habagat veteran Hadi Pacheco had the top score of 604 with Rommel Cacampang Med Ramos and Manny Tibay on 583 575 and 513 as the other players to complete a series. Richard Antonio and Geo Mangaliman shared the remaining three games on 202-169 and 176 respectively.
League-leading D' Barkads drew 628 from Rey Betran 540 from Bing Amolo 523 from Leo Edejer 146-178 from Ed Sardina 191-194 from Romy Bunagan and 216-178 from Dan Ednave.
