Saudi- Government keen to protect personal data of citizens
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Ministry of Interior has recently completed two projects to protect the personal data of employees in the public and private sector including hospitals and banks.
A government committee completed a legislative draft for the two projects to protect citizens' personal data approve their right to access public information and increase transparency under the slogan 'Freedom of Information' according to local media.
The projects are currently being reviewed by a number of government agencies prior to their implementation. The system aims to protect personal data find ways to regulate the collection and storage private information and the safe passage to a third party. The system will further protect disclosure of the individual's personal data whether in print or electronic form when collected by various government or private agencies.
