Kuwait- ANOC names Sheikh Ahmad as chairman

(MENAFN- Arab Times) BANGKOK Thailand Nov 7 (KUNA): General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) held on Friday elected uncontested Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah as chairman for a four-year term. Addressing the assembly Sheikh Ahmad expressed satisfaction for being chosen as chief of the sports committee also voicing hope that he would be up to the responsibilities assigned to him as the chairman of the Asian sports body.

Patrick Hickey President of the European Olympic Committees is nominated to occupy the vice-chairman post. Sheikh Ahmad was elected the association chief in April 2012.
