Oman, Italy aim to boost trade ties

Date:

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Representatives of ten Italian companies are visiting Muscat this week as part of a business delegation organised by the Italian Chambers of Commerce of Turin and Vicenza together with Tricolore International the first international business development agency set to enhance the commercial relations between Oman and Italy.

The Italian firms are interested in approaching the Omani market looking for potential business partners for joint ventures and local distributors.

Most of the delegation is composed by manufacturers operating in the interior design sector and building automation (Razzetti Errepi Rizzi Emmevi Rubinetterie Ferrerolegno Future Leather Stv serrature Ihba). Other three companies are exploring new opportunities in the engineering and construction fields (Cogeis Studio Doppio Asset).

'We have arranged more than 60 B2B meetings trying to identify for each Italian company the most appropriate local counterpart with the aim to create real business opportunities of mutual benefit for both the Italian and the Omani companies' said Caterina Carannante general manager of Tricolore International.

The agency setup in 2011 is committed to stimulate the interest of the Italian entrepreneurs for Oman as a successful business and investment destination and aims to open a direct access way to the Italian expertise and products.

'The number of Italian companies targeting to access the sultanate has constantly increased in the last three years' Caterina adds.

'Far from being nowadays an unknown market Oman is becoming more and more attractive thanks to its economic stability and major investment plans. The result is a stronger competition which requires the right combination of quality and price to succeed.'

In partnership with the main Italian entrepreneurial associations Tricolore is trying to support the companies in implementing the most sustainable market strategy.

The ongoing infrastructural and real estate development of Oman is undoubtedly a strategic opportunity for the Italian companies talented to offer specialised know-how and high quality products.

Beside the engineering and construction services said Caterina we find the interior design a very successful niche market especially when cooperating with the local professional channel.

Tricolore has in fact launched the first 'Atelier of authentic Made in Italy' based on 18th November Street. 'We are the ideal partner for consultants architects and contractors looking for the best combination of quality style and price' said  Carlo D'Andrea partner of Tricolore and responsible for the new division.

'We want to prove that Made in Italy can make the difference with its unique style but it doesn't mean necessarily expensive. We are able to advise and procure a range of products tailored to the specific project requirements both aesthetically and economically.'
