Silver Falls Out of Favour as Car Buyers Make a Black or White Choice

(MENAFNEditorial)

05 November 2014: The twice annual plate change always leads to a spike in new car sales and that means more choice of used cars coming onto the market. It's also a good time for the industry to review what's hot and what's not when it comes to our buying preferences.

According to the SMMT September 2014 has marked the highest new car sales for a decade but its figures also reveal some interesting trends in buying habits and they'll have a knock on effect in the overall car market.

The latest statistics show that Brits are buying smaller and more fuel efficient cars than they were 10 years ago. That means there's a definite shift towards green but not where colour is concerned.

Choosing a car is partly about fashion which means colour is important and here too preferences are changing. Back in 2004 the nation wanted silver cars this year's figures though show that silver is no longer even in the top five. White is now the most popular choice followed by black. Blue grey and red make up the remainder of the top five.

Of course when buying used the specification of the car is most important and colour may be a secondary consideration. When looking for used cars Bedfordshire offers a big choice however and buyers should be able to find a model to suit them and enable them to keep up with the latest colour trends.
