China's energy cars production up 328 percent in 2014


(MENAFN) China's new energy vehicle (NEV) production has more than tripled in the January-August period, due to the government's support out of environmental concern, Xinhua reported.

The total of NEVs produced reached 31.137 in cited period, up by 328 percent compared to the same period last year.

In terms of types, plug-in hybrids had the largest increase in its production, and soared by almost 12 times to reach 6.621 units, while pure electric sedans increased by nearly 7 times to 16.276 units.

However, the cars still face several problems which include poor charging facilities, weak market recognition, and relatively high prices.
