Singapore's economy grows 3.5 percent in H1


(MENAFN) According to Singapore's Prime Minister, the country's economy grew 3.5 percent in the first half of 2014 year-on-year, Xinhua reported.

The full-year economic growth forecast is now stands at 2.5-3.5 percent, compared to the earlier forecast of 2-4 percent, he added.

In the first quarter, Singapore's economy grew by 4.7 percent on year, while in the second quarter, it slowed to 2.1 percent.

"Our interests and opinions are more diverse and deeply held," he said, adding that Singapore must reassess its position and refresh its strategies.
