Japan's unemployment rate edges down in May


(MENAFN) The Japanese Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry said that the country's unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in May, edging down 0.1 percent from April, Xinhua reporte



It is the first time in more than 16 years that the country's jobless rate has stood at 3.5 percent, better than the initial forecast of 3.6 percen



The number of unemployed people rose 1.3 percent from April to 2.33 million, as those quitting jobs voluntarily decreased 6.6 percent to 710,000, the ministry said
