Chinese logistics growth slows further


(MENAFN) According to new data released, China's logistics industry growth kept a slow pace in the January-April period of 2014 as demand shrank amid en economic slowdown, Xinhua reported. According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the total value of goods transported by logistics services rose 8.5 percent to USD10.4 trillion compared to the same period a year earlier. The country's growth rate was 0.1 percent lower compared to the first quarter of the current year and 0.9 percent lower than the same period a year ago. Combined logistics spending during the first four months of the year totaled USD501.9 trillion, up 8.0 percent over a year earlier.
