Airbus net profit up 93 percent in Q1
(MENAFN) Airbus Group has posted a net profit near double in the first quarter of 2014, an increase in sales led by helicopters, but a fall in new orders after an exceptional performance in 2013, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
Reports show that net profit increased by 93 percent in the first quarter of the current year, hitting USD604.5 million.
"The group was holding to its forecasts, but still had much to do by the end of the year, with the emphasis being on applying restructuring programs," Chief Executive said
The company is set to launch its new A350 airliner into service by the end of the year. This aircraft is a long-haul plane with a fuselage made of composite materials.
