China's industrial sector expands in slow pace
(MENAFN) China's industrial sector activities continued to show an expansion, in a sign of the broader economy's stability despite the slow pace of expansion, Xinhua reported.
Official figures revealed an expansion of 8.7 percent in the industrial added value in the January-April period compared to a year earlier, as solid growth of the manufacturing sub-sector compensated sub-par performances of the mining and utilities sub-sectors.
The manufacturing sub-sector grew by 9.9 percent in added value in the first four months of 2014, while the mining and utilities sub-sectors grew by 3.6 percent and 4.2 percent, respectively.
"The Chinese economy is experiencing deep adjustments with investment and consumption growth easing slowly," said an economist at the State Information Center.
