Registration for Filipino overseas voters starts

(MENAFN- Arab News) Filipinos here started registering as voters for the country's 2016 elections at the philippine embassy on tuesday. a total of 141 citizens registered as voters on the first day. the registration process will end on oct. 31 2015.

'registration as an overseas voter will allow qualified filipinos to vote for the president vice president 12 senators and one party-list representative during the elections in 2016" ambassador ezzedin h. tago said.

'i encourage all filipinos to come to the embassy or during our overseas voting outreach missions to register as overseas voters. the embassy will go to philippine schools hospitals job sites and other places during outreach missions so that more filipinos can register" tago said.

the embassy will open for registration from sunday to thursday beginning at 8 a.m. applicants must present a copy of their philippine passport or any other identity document.

registration will also be held during scheduled 'embassy on wheels" missions to be announced soon he said.
