Brazil registers USD6b trade deficit in Q1
(MENAFN) Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade said that the country in the first quarter registered its worst trade deficit in two decades, Xinhua reported
The ministry said that the deficit in the January-March period came at USD6.07 billion, up 15 percent from a deficit of USD5.15 billion a year earlier
Exports during the period amounted to USD44.58 billion, while imports reached USD55.66 billion
Analysts predict a USD4.25 billion trade surplus for the full year, while the country's central bank forecasts a USD8 billion trade surplus
