Iran to open carbon trading market
(MENAFN) Iran's Fuel Conservation Organization (IFCO) reported that Iran will launch a carbon trading market to eliminate industrial emissions of climate-warming gas, according to Iran Daily
Mehdi Sharif, director for energy efficiency at IFCO, a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company, said: "Reducing energy consumption and capping carbon emission are two sides of the coin. When energy consumption declines, carbon emission will also fall.
The growing population and consumption of gas have caused a gas supply and vehicle pollution crisis in some cities in Iran, and the country aims to reduce pollution through the new market
