Northern Emirates rents surge 33 percent last year
(MENAFN) An Asteco report reveals that rental values in the Northern Emirates of Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah surged by as much as 33 percent last year, Arabian Business reported
The report said that apartment rents in Sharjah"s most popular areas had increased 38 percent in 2013
Sharjah rents soared by eight percent during the October-December period of last year alone, the report shows
Asteco managing director said: "Our research shows that the rental law that was created to protect tenants from steep annual rent increases, is being circumvented by some landlords asking for additional fees for maintenance and extra parking spaces"
