Pakistan, Iran resumes USD7.5 b gas pipeline project


(MENAFN) Pakistan and Iran made an agreement resume the implementation of a delayed gas pipeline project which links Iran's South Pars Gas Field in Bushehr province with consumers in Pakistan, according to Iran Daily. Reuters reported that the United States opposes the USD7.5 billion-worth project, claiming it violates the sanctions imposed on Iran over nuclear activities. Pakistan"s Foreign Ministry said: "It was also agreed that a meeting will be held shortly between the experts of both sides to review parameters for accelerating work on the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline."
