Contracts awarded for Oman's Sohar Refinery Improvement

(MENAFN) Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) said that it awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts for the Sohar Refinery Improvement Project (SRIP), Times of Oman reported. The said contracts were awarded to Daelim Industrial Company & Petrofac Engineering & Construction joint venture. Orpic has awarded Long Lead Item (LLI) contracts to ATB Calzoni, GE Oil & Gas, Howden Thomassen, and Flowserve. The SRIP will increase the refinery's production capacity. Fuels, propylene and naphtha output will increase to 70 per cent, providing a solution to the Sultanate"s increasing fuel consumption.
