(MENAFN) European standards have weakened the Iranian horticultural crops in the last few months after Iran used to produce over 175,000 tons of grapes and 145,000 tons of raisins every year, according to Iran Daily.
Before the European restrictions, Iran ranked second and third biggest exporter of grapes and raisins in the world after US and Turkey.
Nasser Salehi-Nasab, a parliamentarian in the committee on agriculture and water management, said: "Iran's agricultural products used to enjoy high standards, but advanced technologies used by other counties have overshadowed the upbeat outlook."
