Petronas plans LNG project in Canada


(MENAFN) Malasyian oil giant, Petronas, is planning a liquid natural gas (LNG) project in Canada after Ottawa decided to change its decision regarding the company operating there, Times of Oman reported. Petronas announced that it will invest USD35 billion to construct all the required facilities in addition to a pipeline. The capital will mark the largest foreign direct investment in Canada. "We believe this project will be mutually beneficial because it will open up Canadian energy to new markets, principally East Asia," Prime Minister Najib Razak said.
