Nigeria, China sign USD1.3 b power plant deal
(MENAFN) Nigeria and China signed a USD1.3 billion deal to construct a power plant in a bid to ease Nigeria's electricity shortages, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
The country only provides a few hours of electricity per day, pushing residents to rely on diesel generators which costs the country and push foreign investment away.
The Nigerian Finance Minister said: "This project will create thousands of jobs for Nigerian engineers, technicians and artisans during the construction phase ... It will also boost the economy."
