UK business activity reaches its highest level since 2001

(MENAFN) UK business activity showed a recovery after reaching its highest growth in the current year since May 2001. The BDO Optimism Index boosted to the highest level in 29 months during the last seven months to reach 98.0. "The UK economy is set for relatively robust expansion in 2013," said Peter Hemington, BDO partner. He added: "This is particularly pertinent given the Bank of England Governor Mark Carney"s decision to peg interest rates to unemployment levels. Our data suggests that Carney"s target may remain elusive and interest rates will remain at their record low for some time."
