Chinese nuclear generator ready for installation
(MENAFN) Dongfang Electrical Machinery Co. Ltd (DFEM) finished building a nuclear generator with the capacity of 1,750 megawatts (MW), Xinhua reported.
The generator is to be transported to Taishan nuclear power plant in south China. The company is set to supply another similar generator to the plant.
The generators, to be installed in 2013 and 2014 as part of plant's first-phase development plan, are to generate 26 billion kilowatt-hours on-grid.
The first-phase has a total investment of USD8.13 billion and will use Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) to construct the two units generating 1,750 MW each.
