UAE- Notorious drug dealer held with 5,000 tramadol pills


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ajman Police, in cooperation with their counterparts in Sharjah, have arrested a GCC national in possession of 5,000 tramadol pills. The arrested suspect was a notorious drug dealer, the police learnt later. Following a tip-off, a security team of both Ajman and Sharjah Police was formed as the suspect was said to be selling tramadol pills in both emirates. The suspect was stopped while driving his car and arrested. On searching the car, 5,000 tramadol capsules were found in addition to other drugs that are listed in the banned or restricted drug lists as they have adverse effects on the nervous system and can lead to death. On checking his background, the police realised he had previous records in drug-related crimes and was considered one of the biggest dealers. Legal procedures were taken and he was referred to the Public Prosecution. Col Saeed Humaid Al Hosani, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ajman Police, urged parents of youngsters to be very vigilant and always check the behaviour of their children who might keep bad company who encourage them to try drugs which could lead to addiction. "Parents should always be alert when their children hang out with their friends and should educate them about the harmful effects of drugs."
