AirAsia and Japan ANA to quit joint budget airline

(MENAFN) According to Reuters, the Japanese airline's ANA Holdings will cease the joint budget airline opportunity with AirAsia BHD. The venture began in August of 2011, when the two airlines decided to join forces to form one budget airline. The low cost joint air carrier did not gain many Japanese travelers, which ANA blamed on bad marketing and a tough to navigate booking website. AirAsia and ANA senior executives have not been able to agree on cost management and other joint issues. ANA announced that it will operate the budget air carrier as a wholly owned subsidiary.
