Oman- Dialysis Unit opened at Haima Hospital


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H E Dr Darweesh Saif al Maharbi, Undersecretary for Administrative & Financial Affairs in the Ministry of Health, last week opened a Dialysis Unit at Haima Hospital.

Khalifa Saif al Y'aqoobi, director general of Health Services in Al Wusta, as well as a number of Ministry of Health and Directorate General of Health Services officials were present at the inauguration function.

The new unit consists of a clinic equipped with two dialysis devices and two beds. The working staff includes a team of kidney specialists as well as three nursing staff who were brought from Nizwa Hospital's Nephrology Department, in addition to technicians supervising the machines and devices of the unit. The unit has also been provided with medical supplies and essential medications.

The unit will be receiving kidney failure patients starting from this week for three days during the week, which are Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, in three shifts during the morning and afternoon. People from the four wilayats of Al Wusta will benefit from the services of the unit. It is a new addition to the governorate's health services that would reduce the sufferings of the patients in travelling long distances for receiving treatment apart from sending some of them to The Royal Hospital, Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, and Nizwa, Ibra, and Sinaw hospitals.
