Iran's forces to back Russia in Syria

(MENAFN) Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to the head of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, declared that Iran's military is backing Moscow and Damascus in Syria.

Velayati commented in Moscow amid allegations that Iran's part in Syria will be a major headline at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump in Helsinki.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed after a gathering with Putin in Moscow: " Our opinion is known that Iran needs to leave Syria."

He added that they "will immediately leave if Iraqi and Syrian governments want it, not because of Israel and America's pressure,".
