Afghanistan- Govt Team to Meet Dostum Again Tonight with New Offer

(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - A government delegation is expected to meet Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum in Turkey again tonight and may share President Ashraf Ghani's recent offer with the Uzbek leader, a well-placed source said Thursday.
Three days back, Second Vice President Sarwar Danish met Dostum in Ankara and held discussion on various issues.
The source, close to Junbish-i-Islami Party wishing anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News Danish, Social Affairs Minister FaizullahZaki and another high ranking official from the Presidential Palace failed to win Dostum's confidence in the meeting.
As the first meeting failed, President Ashraf Ghani while traveling to Brussels ordered Danish to hold another meeting with Dostum.
At the first meeting, Dostum was told that the government wanted to release Qaisari but he should stay in Kabul, an offer Dostum refused and insisted Qaisari's presence in north of the country was vital for security reasons.
So far no agreement has reached, but tonight another meeting is scheduled between Dostum, Danish and Zaki, in which a fresh offer from the president would be presented to Dostum.
The source did not speak about Dostum's return to the country, but added if an agreement reached tonight, in the next step the comeback of Dostum would be considered. (Pajhwok)
