Netanyahu vows response to any bid to violate Israeli airspace


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW, July 11 (KUNA) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Wednesday that Israel would confront any attempt to violate its airspace and borders.
He made the remark during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, boasting that Israeli Air Defense had recently shot down a Syrian drone over Golan Heights, Russian Kremlin said in an online statement.
Netanyahu added that Russian-Israeli cooperation would contribute to ensuring security and confidence in the Middle East region.
He noted that his meetings with Putin always focus on the situation in Syria and Iranian presence in this war-torn Arab country.
On his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin said relations between Russia and Israel are developing in the economic, political and military spheres, as well as in the area of humanitarian cooperation.
"Our bilateral relations are developing rather positively," Putin said, noting that the indicators of economic cooperation are positive.
It is the third visit by the Israeli prime minister to Russia this year. (end) as.mt
