
Kuwait- Cabinet discusses HH the Amir's state visit to China

KUWAIT CITY, July 9, (KUNA): The Cabinet discussed, during its weekly meeting on Monday, outcome of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's state visit to China and his meetings in Beijing.
The Cabinet, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said His Highness the Amir's meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping would further cement relations and cooperation between the two countries in different spheres, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Khaled Jarrah Al-Sabah said in a statement.
Kuwait and China signed earlier today cooperation agreements in different domains like defense industries, telecommunications, oil, investment and e-commerce. Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved an international agreement on combating illegal trade in tobacco, the final documents of the international radio communication conference, cooperation agreement on national guards training with Turkey, cooperation agreement between custom departments in Kuwait and the US, a multi-party accord on tax and profits' transference treaties, as well as joining the tax authorities union in Islamic countries.
The Cabinet also approved drafts agreements on culture and art with Britain, Turkmenistan and Vietnam. It also approved establishment of cooperation committees with Turkmenistan and Comoros, marine transport and ports agreement with Egypt, tourism agreement with Egypt, and electricity accord with Bahrain.
The government, on the other hand, congratulated the US on the 242nd Independence Day, and wished the American people further development and prosperity. Meanwhile, the government of Kuwait condemned Monday deadly attacks in Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Tunisia, extending condolences for families of the victims and wishing speedy recovery for the wounded.
The Cabinet, condemned an attack on a check point in Saudi city of Qassim that killed a security man and a civilian. The cabinet, according to an official statement, expressed full support to all measures taken by the Saudi government to restore security and stability of the Kingdom. The government also condemned the terrorist attack on the Somali Interior Ministry building in Mogadishu that killed and wounded many people. It denounced a terrorist assault on Tunisian forces in Jandouba province that killed at least eight personnel.
