Unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia reaches 12.9 percent


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia has seen its unemployment rate hit 12.9 percent during the first quarter of this year, according to the labor market bulletin of the General Authority of Statistics.

During the first quarter in 2018, the unemployment rate of Saudi females has dropped to 30.9 percent, from 31.10 percent compared to last year's fourth quarter.

The unemployment rate for Saudi males however recorded a boost to reach 7.6 percent, compared to 7.5 percent last year.

The Kingdom was also shown to have recorded a rise in the economic contribution of Saudi females to hit 19.5 percent.
