His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to US President Donald Trump on the anniversary of his country's Independence Day.

Jordanian ministerpraises Qatar
Jordan's Minister of State for Information Affairs and government spokesperson Jumana Ghunaimat said yesterday that ties with Qatar were strong, stressing the Qatari position towards Jordan's economic crisis. He told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the Jordanian and Qatari authorities are in consultations to find a mechanism through which Qatar will make good on its promise to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanian youth. Qatar will also invest $500mn in infrastructure and tourism projects in Jordan. The minister appreciated Qatar for supporting the Jordanian economy through an investment package and providing thousands of jobs.

Qatari Diar venture tobuild 1,000 UK homes
A Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Co venture has won approval to build almost 1,000 homes in the UK capital's Elephant and Castle district. Southwark Council approved the revised plans to replace a shopping mall with apartment towers, a new college campus and stores late on Tuesday. Investor Delancey, Dutch pension fund APG Asset Management NV and the Qatari sovereign wealth fund's property development unit will develop the project using their firm Get Living.
