Qatar GDP records 7 percent boost in Q1 2018

(MENAFN) Qatar was found to have recorded a 7 percent boost in its quarterly GDP at current prices during the first quarter of this year, reaching QR160.44 billion.

The increase demonstrates Qatar's continued economic growth, successfully defeating obstacles which appeared as a result of the Saudi-led blockade.

In a press release, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) noted that the quarterly GDP was expected to hit QR162 billion in the fourth quarter of last year.

The quarterly GDP at constant prices during that period presents a 1.4 percent growth compared to the revised estimate of last year in the same period.
