(MENAFN) On Saturday, after a mysterious explosion occurred in a house in Shujaeya neighborhood in Gaza City, two people were killed and eight others injured.
Two Palestinian civilians were killed and eight others injured in an explosion at an Eastern neighborhood of the Gaza Strip, while three of the eight who were injured were in critical conditions, according to the Ministry of Health, Middle East News reported.
The incident happened in Shejaiya neighborhood after fireworks exploded, Ashraf al-Qidra, the Health Ministry Spokesman, stated.
The situation has been tense across the Gaza fence amid rallies by Palestinians against Israeli occupation of their lands.
Since the rallies began in late March, more than 140 Palestinians have been martyred and thousands more injured by Israeli army gunfire, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
