India thrashed Ireland by 76 runs to win the first T20I of the two-match series.

The visitors slammed 208/5, before restricting Ireland to 132/9.

Dhawan (74) and Rohit (96) added 160 runs for the first wicket.

Ireland responded with some late wickets to restrict India to 208.

Kuldeep Yadav completely destroyed Ireland as he ended with figures of 4-1-21-4.

India bowled really well as their wrist spinners ruled the roost.

The pair of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal picked seven wickets between them to jolt the hosts.

Kuldeep Yadav picked 4/21 as he produced the best performance of his career in T20Is.

On the other hand, Chahal's figures read 4-0-38-3.

Besides the duo, Bumrah picked 2/19 in his four over spell.


Rohit and his art of getting big partnerships

This was Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma's highest ever T20I partnership.

Their previous best was 158-run stand against New Zealand in Delhi, 2017.

Notably, India's highest ever T20I partnership still remains 165 runs, which was amassed by KL Rahul and Rohit.

They had achieved this feat in 2017 against Sri Lanka in Indore.

Rohit Sharma became the 13th Indian player to score 10,000-plus runs across all formats in international cricket.

Suresh Raina became only the third Indian to get past 1,500 runs in T20Is.

Openers Dhawan and Rohit became the second pair in T20Is to get past 1,000 runs.

This feat was earlier achieved by Aussies David Warner and Shane Watson.

Shikhar Dhawan continued his supreme form in T20I cricket in 2018.

He has now scored 415 runs in nine T20Is in 2018.

Dhawan also became the sixth Indian to get past 6,000 runs in T20 cricket across all competitions.

He hit five fours and five sixes in his 45-ball 74 runs at a strike-rate of 164.44.


Peter Chase registers career best figures

Ireland used as many as seven bowlers and the only one to stand out was Peter Chase. The 24-year-old picked 4/35 and registered his best figures in T20Is. This was his third T20I game. He picked three wickets in his final over.
