(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) said Tuesday firefighters controlled a fire that broke out to tons of fodders at the western Salmi road.
In a statement, KFSD public relations department said that the spread of fire area was estimated to be around 1,000 meters, and wind speed contributed to the spread of fire in more than one place.
Firefighting teams confronted the fire from all directions and used bulldozers to cut off the remaining spread of fire, the statement said.
The statement added that one firefighter was injured in the eye and was taken for treatment in Al-Jahra hospital.
KFSD pointed out that the operations center received a message at 3:55 p.m. of a fire two kilometers into Al-Salmi road.
Firefighting teams were directed from Jahra, Jeleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Mishref and KFSD supporting units. (end) ays.mb
