US 'absolutely support' Israel on assaults against Gaza: Netanyahu

(MENAFN) US diplomats visiting Israel have granted "absolute support" for the country's handling of the deadly assaults striking Gaza, as stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The statement has been made by the Israeli prime minister after a meeting in Jerusalem with Trump's senior adviser Jared Kushner and White House envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt.

During his weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated "I must say that there was absolute support for our positions and our actions to ensure the security of Israel and its citizens in the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip."

Netanyahu also confirmed that they explored methods to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza without strengthening Hamas, the Islamist Palestinian movement that runs Gaza.
He added "these matters are clear, first of all how to ensure security and how to prevent a broader flare-up, if it is at all possible."
