Israel's finance minister denies prices hike on milk, dairy

(MENAFN) Israeli Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon has rejected an order to be signed that allows for a hike in prices of milk and dairy products.

During a meeting with the finance minister and senior officials of his ministry, it was decided that "in order to prevent a change in the downward trend in prices that has occurred in recent years, the Ministry of Finance will examine every for which there is a chance of price increases."

It comes after Tnuva Dairy Company raised pressure on Finance Minister Kahlon to increase milk and dairy products' prices.

The major Israeli food company claimed that the extent of the damage it suffered in 2017 was estimated at USD22 million.
