Oman- Five persons arrested for duping their employers of more than RO1mn


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Five persons have been arrested in Muscat and Sohar for defrauding their employers more than RO1mn.

In Muscat, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department at Azaiba Police Station arrested a citizen and three Arab nationals in two separate cases.

In the first case, the citizen and two Arab nationals used the powers granted to them by their employer for personal benefit. 'The accused signed contracts without tendering with a private entity which led to the company incurring losses of RO1mn,' the ROP said.

In the second case, the Arab national received more than RO13,000 for work purposes but didn't transfer the money to the employer's account.

Additionally, Sohar police arrested an Asian for embezzling more than RO6,000.

The ROP calls on all employers to exercise precaution on financial matters.
