Iran notifies IAEA of plans to develop uranium enrichment
(MENAFN) The UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has learned of Iran's plans to improve uranium enrichment.
Speaking to Xinhua, a spokesman for IAEA stated "the agency received a letter from Iran on June 4 informing the agency that there is a tentative schedule to start production of UF6."
UF6, known as uranium hexafluoride, is a chemical compound which serves as feedstock for centrifuges, the machines that enrich uranium.
